I am happy to announce that I did talk to the IRS today for 3 hours and they are in the process of correcting stimulus payments that were taken from injured spouses. The guy happened to be one of the ones working on them and he said he’s been working on 150 a day so that is reassurance that if you filed an injured spouse form with your 2018 or 2019 tax return then you will get your portion of the stimulus. There is not a specific time frame but they are working on them. Also, everyone will be back in the office starting on Monday. So that should speed things up some too. Hope this helps clarify things for y’all. I’m happy to give this information because it has been a struggle not getting the stimulus when I really needed it. I’m a nurse and my hours were cut but I’m lucky to still be working at all. God bless you guys. Again I hope this helps. 😀

It’s [phone number removed]. Just wait for a live person and this is on the stimulus so she ended up transferring me to an actual irs agent which I held for 45 minutes. But it’s worth it.

Okay I hope this sheds some light on the injured spouse stimulus payment. I just talked to someone at the IRS and they informed me that my entire stimulus went to back child support from my spouse arrears. They don’t have a procedure for this type of situation and do agree that this is not my debt nor is it any of the other injured spouses in the world! They are submitting a review to have this procedure submitted because this type of situation is new and obviously they didn’t think about all the different types of situations. I spent 2 hours on the phone with this guy and I have to say he was doing everything he could to get this resolved because it is not fair especially during this crisis. He told me they are getting new procedures daily but don’t have one on how they are going to address this particular situation that’s happening to a lot of people. He told me to call back in a week and check in to see if there are new procedures regarding this. They know this is a problem and didn’t think about how it would affect some of us. So they have to fix it especially since most of us file every year with this form. He did say that the injured spouse form is only for tax refunds but they never told anyone what to do because everything shut down so this is not our fault because we didn’t know. So to everyone going through this, hang in there and be patient cuz they are working on this situation. Hope this helps! Stay healthy and bless y’all!

It’s just all ridiculous! I have A daughter as well and still waiting on my tax return after 15 weeks. I did talk to someone at my local tax advocate office and they said there is nothing can be done until the irs opens back up to finish processing my tax refund which they said should be soon. Is all they were told. She only showed me getting only 1450 from stimulus which went to child support. I should have got back 2900 because I filed married filing jointly and I have a qualifying child. She couldn’t understand it either but once again nothing I can do until the IRS opens back up. I’m sick to death of all this BS and I’m filing a complaint bigger than crap. So not fair for my child to not get anything or myself. I’ve always got back my full refund every year filing the injured spouse form and I better get it this year. There’s no date as to when the irs will open back up but they were told very soon. It’s gonna be crazy with calls I just know it. I will hold for hours if I have to just to give them a piece of my mind!! How do you talk to an irs representative thru online chat? Is it on the irs.gov website because I looked and couldn’t find anything. Thanks for the Input. I hope justice is served for all the injured souses out there! God bless everyone.

I filed head of household last 2 years and the injured spouse form takes just as long and it sucks! I agreed with everything you said. The system is flawed in ways and always has been.
