I finished my taxes last night, up to the point of e-filing. I went to bed owning 4K, reopened the file this morning to e-file (using downloaded version) and now owe $29K. I have no idea what it did it me. Is there any way of recovering short of printing it out and going line by line? I'm guessing this is going to prove more painful than just doing it all by hand from the start.

Did you try switching to Forms mode to see what changed so drastically?
Yep, multiple issues. The biggest of which is it decide to ignore all amounts in Box 2 of my W2s (i.e. Federal Income Tax Withheld). I deleted the W2s, re-imported and still no credit.
It also appears to have decided I was younger than my birthday in personal info would imply, so it has me as overcontributing to 401k and HSA as it's not allowing catchup contributions.
Not happy.
Sometimes imported W-2's do not import accurately. Forget about importing them and enter them by keying W-2's by hand to make sure it is all in there correctly.
You can go to My Info and correct your date of birth by clicking edit by your name. The software uses your age as of the end of 2022 when it calculates standard deduction, etc.
Thanks. The imported W2s worked (yesterday), until the software did its magic and screwed it all up. I've tried deleting and re-importing, also tried deleting and typing them in. 1040 Box 25a remains blank and does not reflect the information from Box 2 of W2s. Forms does not allow a manual override of 1040 Box 25a, so short of starting a new return there appears to be no way to remedy this. And since there's no logical reason why this would have changed after a simple save, close and reopen, there's no way to ensure it won't happen again.
I haven't tried changing my age, it doesn't really matter if the W2 info doesn't get used correctly.
To call TurboTax customer support

Customer support is available from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pacific time daily
I appreciate you trying to help, but this really isn't a customer support issue, other than for me to ask for my money back. This is me beta testing the software for Intuit. There's a really ugly bug or two at work here. There is nothing that I did that should have resulted in it revising the calculations base on my W2s, AND incorrectly revising those calculations based on the W2 data that it was given. There's also nothing I did that should have led it to recalculate if I was eligible for HSA & 401K makeup calculations AND incorrectly doing that based on the data it was given. My W2 data and birthdate data are still correct, the calculations are messed up somehow. This is not some obscure part of the tax law, it's simple transferring of data from a W2 to the first 2 pages of form 1040. I'm disappointed.
CD/DOWNLOAD REFUND https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/forms/refund-request.jsp
Update... No refund requested or needed. I opened the return today and the screwy changes were gone. I don't know why, software update?
