When I insert CD and begin install process TT tells me it has to install a missing file and that it's gathering a few technical bits of information. Install progress shows 3% at this time. Unfortunately, it never progresses from this point. What should I do next?

You will need to contact TurboTax support and speak directly with a support agent about this issue of the installation file not completing due to a missing file. In some cases it is necessary to install the program from a Download instead of a CD and the support agent can push a 2016 desktop installation file to your download account.
