Turbo tax said you’d help with my rejected 2016 return. So help!!

Without knowing the Rejection Code that the IRS sent with your rejected return, I can not say why it was rejected.  Having a rejected return does not mean that you will not get your tax refund, it means that you need to correct your return and resubmit it to the tax authority.
