Withholding

Hello,

My employer has federal and state taxes withheld from each paycheck, but the current W2 shows the federal withholding as blank.

Since federal taxes are withheld each pay period, why is W2 federal withholding blank? Where are these withheld federal taxes going? If earned income is under married filing jointly deduction, but federal taxes are withheld each paycheck. So if federal taxes are withheld why is W2 withholding line blank??

These are all questions that you need to ask your employer.  It is possible that your W-2 is incorrect and will be re-issued or the employer may not be aware of the problem.  Either way, you need to clarify with the employer whether your W-2 is accurate before filing your tax return.
