Why would I not be getting my full solar energy credits back this year? It says I have a carry forward balance and confused on why?

If the number on line 11 is not large enough to support the full credit you would not be able to take the full credit. This means, if you only show $250 on line 11, this would be the maximum solar credit you could take this year. The rest would be carried forward to next year.
