Why would a state withdraw a different amount for payment due than the turbotax filing?

Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.

If the state changed your tax return which increased the amount of taxes owed, then you will be receiving a letter in the mail from the state explaining the changes.

You can also call your state department of revenue to find out what was changed on the return.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for contacting a state department of revenue - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/state-taxes/contact-state-department-rev...

Ask the state.  TurboTax receives no information from the state after you file your tax return.   If the state changed something they should mail you a letter soon.
