good reason? Turbotax has closed e-filing for all years before 2023. your only choice is to mail in your return or find another provider that would require reentering all your data and even maybe even fees.

Another good reason----the IRS has closed all e-filing until e-filing opens again for 2023 returns sometime at the end of January 2024.  No one can e-file anything to the IRS at this time.  Users of TurboTax do-it-yourself tax software cannot e-file past year returns, and your 2022 return is now a "past year" return.  Print it, sign and date it in ink, and mail it in.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s.  Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses.  Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.
