Problems launching the TT App on Mac especially hanging after checking for updates; Possibly due to your TT file being stored on iCloud rather than locally on the Mac. Try launching TT by double clicking the file (on iCloud) instead of opening the App and expecting the App to find the file. Or try moving the file to another folder, then launching the App. It seems like pointers to files stored on iCloud can confuse TT sometimes as it expects the file to be stored locally. see: https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/taxes/discussion/turbo-tax-2024-mac-will-not-load-under-15-2/00/34...
I am running Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1
I have disabled all antivirus software
I have attempted to run on Safe Mode
Each time I remove (following your instructions) and reinstall the software, I get the customary message "This software was downloaded from the internet. Continue?"
I agree, and nothing happens. No processes show up on the activity monitor. No messages from Turbo Tax. Nothing.
Please assist.
This solution does not work
You did not mention what you did after downloading TT from the web. . . I assume after you replied "Continue" you ran the TT installer package called (Mac_TurboTax_Download.dmg) located in your Downloads folder? If that was completed and you moved the TT app to your Applications Folder, you should then start TT from the Applications Folder using file "TurboTax 2024.app". If you did all that, forgive me for asking.
I had no problem loading the TT program, and had done several updates and entered some data over a period of weeks. Then one day when I did the recommended updating process, the program would not relaunch. I tried a number of times to no avail. It seemed to be caught in a repeating loop. I asked for help, and someone told me to shut down and restart my computer before trying to open TT again. I did, and then everything worked perfectly.
I don't know if this will help you. I am not very knowledgeable about these things, so that's all I know.
