I got a message while doing final review today on my Federal tax forms that there was some issue with RMD related to my wife and my pension payments. As a result TurboTax says they recommend waiting to file. But these are just pension payments in my case for a past employer and for my wife's case, monthly payments for her pension after retirement. I don't understand what TurboTax is waiting for since this has never been an issue in the past. I am also still employed by my current job, so I am not required to take any RMD out of by current 403B. Has anyone gotten this issue 'out of the blue'. The first time I ran the check I did not get that issue. It suddenly is showing up.

There is an issue with the way TurboTax calculates the RMD, specifically in situations where there are multiple accounts. If you know you will not owe the penalty for not withdrawing your RMDs and there is no Form 5329 included with your return, you can file. Why am I getting an RMD distribution amount error?
