Why is turbo tax keep asking me question "Do you want to work on your foreign tax credit right now?"

Hi, I was wondering why Turbo tax kept asking

1) "We see that you paid foreign taxes of zero on your interest, dividend or k-1 income.

Do you want to work on your foreign tax credit right now?"

and 2) if I have a bank account over sea?

Is this because I am a greencard holder or they know something I am not aware like there are money under my name somewhere or business that I don't know but it is under my name?

I am confused :( I said no, but it comes back and asked me again.

Why is turbo tax keep asking me question "Do you want to work on your foreign tax credit right now?"

Most likely you would see a reference to foreign taxes if you entered foreign income or foreign taxes on your return in the current or a previous year. It wouldn't come from a source outside of what you entered on your tax return.

You may have a foreign tax credit form 1116 on your tax return that might prompt the questions you mention. You can try deleting it and that may resolve your issue if you don't think you qualify for a foreign tax credit.

To delete a form:

1. Choose the Tax Tools option on your left menu bar

2. Choose Tools

3. Choose the Delete a form option under Other Helpful links

4. look for Form 1116 in the list of forms and delete it.
