Do you have a TurboTax Online account?

We'll help you get started or pick up where you left off.

Why is this charging me? I thought it was free. Also, why won't it let me just pay with my federal?

I thought this was free to file. I don't have that kind of money on me right now.  Should I go to Jackson and Hewitt cause they can take it out of my federal.

Your post indicates you are using one of the higher priced online editions, Deluxe Live, which is priced at $139.  See https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/online/live/deluxe.jsp

If you have not paid for the online edition you are using, have not filed your tax return or registered the Free edition, then you can clear your return and start over with a lower priced edition. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the program screen while working on the 2023 online tax return. Click on Clear & Start Over.

The TurboTax Free online edition is for very simple tax returns that do not require any other form or schedule other than the Form 1040.  If your tax data requires entry on any other form or schedule then you must upgrade to the Deluxe edition or higher.

The option to pay with your federal tax refund requires that the total of your TurboTax account fees plus the $40 service fee and the state sales taxes are less than your federal refund.
