Why is the system saying I can’t e-file until 2-3-2020

We on the Community cannot see your tax return nor the screen you are on, but a common reason right now that you cannot file your tax return is because some of the federal or state forms are not yet available in TurboTax.

The issue is that TurboTax - like all tax software companies - needs some time after forms are released by a government to create their own forms, get them approved by the IRS or the state, and write and test the software to support that forms. Plus Congress and state legislatures make last minute law changes. All this takes time.

Please look at the Federal Forms Availabilty page to see if your federal forms are available. Please look at the State Forms Availability page to see if your state's forms are available.

I checked your forms availability page for the specific form I am having trouble with.  The forms say they are available but the program still will not work.

Are you using desktop software?  Update your software.  All 2019 forms have been available for months.

Check the date on your computer, paying particular attention that the year is right.
