Why is my return saying that it is already filed when it is not?

Many people have pushed the button to e-file their returns. It is sitting in limbo waiting for the IRS and state governments to open. That is considered filed because they are in line, already filed and can't be changed.

If you have not gone through the file section and your return is saying that it has been filed, that is not logical. You can fill this form out for someone to call you. That would be the best course of action.

So if I went through the file section then I should just wait until the 12th or a little after to see what happens?
