For security reasons, a letter about the Payment will be mailed to each recipient’s last known address within 15 days after the Payment is made. The letter will provide information on how the Payment was made and how to report any failure to receive the Payment.

how old is your child? if over 17 you don't get it many taxpayers have reported they've been short-changed on the payment. the IRS has not yet provided guidance on how to get this corrected.
He’s 12.
Hi I received payment me my wife and daughter but my son Hansel John masih payment missing we are four person in this family
@Saleem8218 - IRS has yet to provide guidance on how they will handle errors in the short term, but here is the 'long term' / worst case scenario approach:
I haven’t received a letter ! Don’t know where my stimulus money is and just received my taxes 2 weeks ago .
I don’t know either as my son is 5 and I have filed for the past 5 yrs claiming my son. And this is now the second stimulus that I received and didn’t include my son. I have been told that when I file my taxes I can get the first one. Great a whole year later.... how do I get the second one AND stop this from happening again. Come on... single mom here.

Only the IRS controls when and if a stimulus payment is distributed.
Go to this IRS get my payment website - https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
If you do not receive any other stimulus payments by January 15, 2021, then the stimulus payment for which you are eligible to receive will be entered on your 2020 federal tax return as a tax credit on Form 1040 Line 30.
The TurboTax program will ask about stimulus payments in the Federal Review section of the program.
@JaimeHimes - it won't be a whole year later, it will be on THIS tax return
But do a favor, look at LAST YEARs tax return where you son's name is listed...look WAY OVER to the RIGHT - there is a check mark. is that check under 'child tax credit'...if no, then THAT is the reason you didn't get the stimulus. You'll want to amend your 2019 tax return because there are a number of tax credits you may have missed (I saw this same issue with another poster yesterday).
on 2020 tax return, be sure that check mark is under 'child tax credit' and if not, delete the child from the return and re-enter in the MyInfo section.
