Thus is insane to me.. turbo tax knows exactly what they are doing... I'm done with turbo tax for GOOD AFTER THIS
Are you still pending?
Yes
There could be a couple of reasons why you might be experiencing a delay:
1. First, the status might be pending for security reasons. This may be a sign that someone is trying to use your identity to file a tax return. This can take up to 72 hours, after which your return will then be forwarded to the IRS, or if applicable, rejected. If rejected, you can then correct the rejection issue and resubmit. Please see this FAQ for reference.
2. Secondly, there could be a delay if your return has various refundable credits, such as the Earned Income Credit, Investment Credit, Energy Credits, or Business Credits. You may need to wait a few more days and check your filing status again. Please see this FAQ for additional information.
Note: Both instances may be applicable. That is, you could have a hold for security reasons first. And additionally for verification of the refundable credits in your return. In this case, delays might extend beyond 72 hours.
Can you just stop with the automated responses? They are not even valid. It has repeatedly been stated it is not a security issue, and the IRS does not delay whether they accept or reject a return based on what credit you're getting. That's just an asinine response and just further solidifies the complete incompetency and ineptitude of TurboTax staff.
I want to start gathering people to file a class action lawsuit. I can imagine there are thousands of people in this situation right now.
I have an update and we shall see how true this is because I'm still skeptical given the fact this only is an issue with TT and no one else. I purchased an ev last year and had to file an 8936. According to the agent I was working with today, efile on that form wasn't available until yesterday and the hold that was placed wasn't lifted until then. Now it's already been a day but I'm giving leeway until Monday if I don't get an acceptance but I highly doubt all of us with this pending issue bought an ev but there are other forms that TT are holding that might be. Now we have identified an issue their agents should have let us know about if it is actually true, we might be able to dig deeper and maybe get to the bottom of this. Again, I'm very skeptical but I am going to give until Monday before I start getting crazy again and definitely would be down for a class action suit for them mishandling our returns
Interesting. Mine has an EV on it also. Might be the issue.
I did also buy an ev, we will see shortly if that is what is holding it up
EV credit IS an issue, and you are right, TT agents should know by now that
What really upsets me is 1. Why weren't we notified of this and 2. Why did only one agent at TT was able to identify this after speaking to countless at this point??? This is horrible service
I hear you. This reply came in right in the nick of time, because I was ready to hit "submit" using Tax Act, since others said their returns were accepted right away with other providers. If this goes through Monday, I'd rather not pay another $75 and then have to fight for a refund from TT. Hopefully Monday all goes through.
i have an ev on my return too and I've been in pending since Jan 29th.
I also has an EV in this years return. But I guess I’m a little bitter bc last year this thing happened and my return wasn’t accepted for 4 months the I got my refund a month later
I purchased an EV last year as well. No one mentioned this. Thanks for sharing this information, we shall see what happens.
