Refunds this year are shockingly lower after two years of excess Covid credits. You may need to change your W2 at work to take more taxes out so you don’t owe each year. The credit for other dependent is $500 but it can only be applied to your tax liability. If you have $500 in taxes due it may help to claim her if you legally can.
