Why does TurboTax still give me the full standard deduction even though my parents can and will claim me as a dependent on their taxes?

Do you have "earned income" (income from working) of at least $14,150? The standard deduction for a dependent depends on your earned income. If your earned income plus $450 is $14,600 or more, you get the full $14,600 standard deduction (for 2024, filing as single).

I am assuming that you checked the correct box in TurboTax to indicate that someone can claim you as a dependent.
