Why does the IRS where's my refund page keeps saying my info doesn't match there records but yet it has already been accepted

The IRS "Where's My Refund" page may be saying your information doesn't match because the IRS relies on accurate and up-to-date records to match your information. If you've recently changed your name, address, or employment details without notifying the IRS and the Social Security Administration (SSA), your tax return may trigger a mismatch.

IRS mismatches often occur due to discrepancies between your tax return and IRS records, potentially caused by transcription errors, or third-party mistakes. Resolving a mismatch requires reviewing your information, correcting any mistakes, and possibly filing an amended return. You will receive a notice from the IRS if this is necessary.

It is also possible that your income and/or payment information the IRS has on file doesn't match the information you reported on your tax return.

If there's a mismatch regarding an income or payment item, the IRS will send you a CP2000, Notice of Proposed Adjustment for Underpayment/Overpayment.

You can call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday for additional information about his mismatch.
