You may have to look on your return to make sure there is not more income listed than should be. Your income needs to be under $250,000 joint filer or $200,000 single to avoid the additional Medicare tax. You may have added income in error that needs to be removed. You can look at your Form 1040 page one to see your income on lines 1 to 11.

actually i got it figured out. i guess its really precise on the medicate tax in box 6 that needs to be exactly 1.45% of wages in box 5. i rounded down in box 6 to the nearest dollar and it cleared it up.
