Why do I need to go to E-file.com to file all the information again when I was using TurboTax?

I was using TurboTax online, but in the last step, when I tried to use E-file, a new window pop up, which is E-file.com. I don't know whether that new window is just my personal desktop's problem. I closed that window, and I wonder if I can make sure my tax file is fully filed and submitted.

I have no idea what e-file.com is, or whether it is legit or not.  And I don't know why it would popup, such as adware perhaps?
What did that popup have to say about e-file.com or want you to do??

I'll see if anyone else has heard of it, and if I learn anything will report back tomorrow.

I have no way of knowing if you finished efiling or not.  Did you go all the way to the last screen where there is a button "Transmit Returns Now", and clicked on that button?

If so, you should get 2 emails.  The first one relatively soon saying that you have successfully submitted your return.  Then that one will be followed by a second one within 24-48 hours (or sometimes much sooner), that your return has been either accepted or rejected.

After 24 hours, I can tell you another way to check, but it is too soon to use the efile check tool.

What does it show on the Welcome Back page when you log in?   Have you checked your email?  Also look in the spam/junk email folder just in case it ended up there.

I don't know if it has been or not.  You can't use the efile status check tool for 24 hours.

Do you remember clicking the button "Transmit Returns Now?"    What does the website tell you when you log back in?

Why do I need to go to E-file.com to file all the information again when I was using TurboTax?

I cannot remember the last button I clicked, and when I log back in , it is my home page. The Federal e-file status is Pending, and the state e-file status is also Pending. I have no way to go back to the pages before I left.   And I can download my return form, which include 1042 form and so forth.  However, I am pretty sure have no email which informs me that my file was submitted.

"Pending" is good.  That implies that your returns were submitted and are awaiting an acceptance or rejection notice.

No, I have not get any emails to inform me anything about submission. Does that means that my file is not successfully filed or submitted? If so, what shall I do now?

And you can see "pending" which means it is in the works.

You're welcome.  I've asked in a Moderator thread if anyone knows why e-file.com might have popped up.  So I'll post back tomorrow if anyone knows.   Have you had problems with any adware or unwanted popups, etc.?    You may wish to do scans with antivirus/antimalware, etc.

Thanks very much. i have received my first email which tells me that "You just e-filed your taxes".

Why do I need to go to E-file.com to file all the information again when I was using TurboTax?

A TurboTax Moderator says TurboTax is not related to E-file.com, so it's not known why you got that popup.  As I mentioned above, you may want to scan your computer for adware/malware, etc.
