Why can't I find the basic version of turboTax to purchase and download from older years?

I need to purchase the downloadable turboTax software for 2021, 2022, and 2023.  When I pull them up, the lowest version available is "Deluxe".  Deluxe is $30 more than basic, and I don't need state tax or special help.  Am I only able to purchase Deluxe for these years?

Right.  Turbo Tax only sells Deluxe and higher for prior years.  Maybe you can find Basic online somewhere else like Amazon.  But be sure it is a new one and legit.

I don't think TT allows activation of s/w older than 3 years so 2022 may be the furthest you may be able to go back with any version

for desktop the current year and three prior years are supported.

there is no basic version. only deluxe at $80 a pop 1 state included even if you don't need it.
