Why are my loss carryovers not automatically populating from last year's return? I've used TurboTax Premier every year.

This help article clearly states that loss carryovers should have been imported in from last year's file https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4790017

To use your capital loss carryover from 2017, you need to enter the amount in TurboTax if the amount did not transfer from your 2017 tax return.

To do so, open your return and follow these steps:

  • Click on Federal Taxes, then on Wages and Income
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on
  • Scroll down to the Investment Income section
  • Click Start next to Capital loss carryover
  • Enter your capital loss carryover from 2017.
