Well, one of several possible reason's

1) The TTX computers are not ready for any tax filings yet....maybe Friday, or maybe in another week or so.

2) Even when the TTX Computers are ready, if your tax file contains certain forms, you may still not be able to e-file until late this month.

3)  When  #1 is ready, then Even if all of the federal forms you need are ready, some state forms are not going to be ready until later this month.

Finalllllllllly

4)  DO NOT FILE NOW.....Wait until the end of January.  Even when TTX computers let you e-file, the IRS will not be "Accepting" any e-files until later this month.  Filing quickly won't get you any $$ any sooner.....and if you find out next week, that you "Forgot" to enter something, you cannot get your previously-submitted filing back....you'd have to wait until the IRS responds to your filing, whenever they get around to it.

E-filing is not yet open for 2024 returns.   The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until late in January.  You will need to wait.   And....if TurboTax opens e-filing sometime soon and lets you e-file, all that will happen is that your e-file will sit on a server and wait for the IRS, so even if you e-file, you may wait for weeks to hear if the return is accepted or rejected.
