Why am I getting charged 29.99 to file my state taxes?

Hi there,

Thanks for being a loyal TurboTax customer. Early in the tax season we offer some promotional pricing across our product line--and for those with very simple tax situations this can include free federal AND free state tax prep. At this point in the year though this promotion has ended and simple tax situations will carry a $29.99 state prep fee.

March 16, 2017 was the last day of Absolute Zero (Free Federal + Free State). You can still file your state for free.

May I suggest you check out our Freedom Edition? You only have to qualify for one of the prerequisites to use this program.
