Tax Year Prior to 2020: It says refunds won't be processed until Feb 15th (or around the 15th) if i have Earned Income credit or Additional Child Credit; is this true with RPF or card payment?

@bcole209, just Federal refunds are held. I also received my State refund within 7 days.

why is my refund saying according to the protecting americans from tax hikes (path) act, the irs cannot issue refunds before mid-february for tax returns that claim the earned income tax credit or the additional child tax credit. this applies to the entire refund, even the portion not associated with these credits.

they can say it's about fraud prevention but holding it an additional 2 weeks then processing everything after that just like normal does not logically support the claim.  The IRS is as crooked as any governmental agency and they just want to hold our money as long as they can get away with because every day they have it, the get interest paid to them.  It's all about them using our money to make themselves more money.

Some websites say we'll get our EIC return mid Feb  (which is Feb 14th), some sites say Feb 18th and others say Feb 27th.
I filed and was accepted on January 29th

I heard the 14th and 15th
