how can i put an icon to my working file on my desk top?

You appear to be posting from the online version, not the CD/download version installed on your computer.

Online files are only stored and saved online. If you have the Windows Desktop program the data file ending in .tax2020 and pdf files are usually saved in your Documents in a Turbo Tax folder. Or search you computer for all files ending in .tax2020 or .tax. On Mac it should be in the Documents folder.
