WHere does soc sec and medicare from W2 flow onto 1040?

Doesn't W2 boxes 4 and 6 for soc sec and medicare flow over to 1040 line 25? If so, TT isn't doing it. Any suggestion/clarification?

Thank you,
Kitch

"Doesn't W2 boxes 4 and 6 for soc sec and medicare flow over to 1040 line 25?"

No.  Those 2 boxes do not flow directly to form 1040, line 25.  Turbo tax is correctly calculating line 25.

Those are taxes for soc sec and medicare and are not included in what is considered part of your federal income taxes withheld, which is box 2.   They may come into play if you are self-employed (Schedule C) or if you have overpaid either of those taxes.

socual security and Medicare are not 'income taxes', so they don't appear on your tax return.
