Where do I go and check my prior year earned income because it's telling me it should be greater than the current year earned income?

That will be your 2016 return, line 66a.

You can use your printed return from last year. Or, you can view your return online in your account or you can find your return in your desktop program from last year.

You can find out what your earned income credit is by previewing your return in the Tools section of TurboTax:

• Login to your TurboTax online account

• Click Take me to my return

• Click Tax Tools

• Click Tools

• Click View Tax Summary

• Then click Preview my 1040 (to the left in the black box)

• Scroll down to page 2, line 66a. This is the amount of Earned Income Credit on your tax return
