I am retired and pay into Medicare Part B each month. On the TT Social Security Benefits worksheet, it lists the amount my husband has deducted from his meager Social Security check each month, but I do no qualify for receiving SS, and I pay for Medicare Part B. Where do I enter this amount? Do I consider it with privately paid medical premiums? I do not receive an SSA 1099 form for my Medicare Part B. Thank you in advance if you can assist.

Yes, you can report those premiums you pay separately with other medical premiums expenses. If you aren't covered under Social Security (nor a government employee who paid Medicare tax) and you voluntarily enrolled in Medicare A, you can deduct those premiums. Premiums for the other Medicare programs—Part B (supplemental medical insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (voluntary prescription drug insurance)—are deductible.

Thank you. So I add the amount I paid to Medicare Part B to my "regular" private insurance payments. If I understand correctly.
Thanks for such a prompt response!
I am self-employed/retired. I do NOT file Schedule C.
I have set up an LLC so I submit all my business expenses on a 1065 form for that LLC.
My LLC was not profitable in 2018 or in 2019. I DID have income in 2019 but had more expenses than income.
Can i submit the $$ I paid for Medicare Part B plus a Medicare Supplement plus additional Part D plan costs -- can i include those as 'deductible' expenses?
If yes, where, exactly, do i put those?
thanks
Yes, they are deductible expenses, but only on Schedule A. You don't qualify to take the self-employment health insurance deduction.
However, you claim what you paid for those premiums on Schedule A as an itemized deduction. You have to be itemizing deductions in order to see any tax benefits from your medical deductions and only the total amount in excess of 7.5% of your AGI will be included in your itemized deductions.
Premiums for the other Medicare programs—Part B (supplemental medical insurance), Part C (Medicare Advantage), and Part D (voluntary prescription drug insurance)—are deductible. See Where do I enter my medical expenses? to enter these in TurboTax. Don't include any premiums reported on your SSA-1099 as those are already reported when you entered your social security income.

If you do not apply for social security and file tax jointly. Can you deduct from your spouse Form SSA-1099 Box 5 since you paid it with your own money. Please, any advice for us.
Yes, you can claim your Medicare Part B payments on your tax return. No, you do not claim them under your spouse's Form SSA-1099 Box 5.
To claim Medicare Part B premiums when you are not receiving social security directly under the Medical Expense screen for Itemized Deductions. To enter the Medicare Part B premium along with any other qualified medical expenses
You can enter medical expenses for both you and your spouse. Be careful not to duplicate. Do not enter the premium for your spouse that is shown on his SSA-1099. Only enter additional expenses your spouse may have.

I'm in a similar situation in that I am over 65 and paying for Medicare but not yet collecting my Social Security. My wife is collecting SS but is not yet 65 and not on Medicare. I assume that it is just as acceptable for me to enter my Medicare payments on Line 2c of the Medical Expenses Worksheet rather than Line 2a?
Yes, you can enter your Medicare Part B insurance payments on Line 2c of the medical expenses worksheet.
