Should I file single since it's been a yr my husband and I separated and live in different states?

When you file there is a separated status option, that file option better fits your situation because you are not together. Therefore not sharing financial expenses or living costs so you can file your costs seperately instead of joined like when you file as married, if you file as single you might get audited because your contractually married, safest option is to talk to your husband and make sure you both file as separated so you can avoid being audited.
