Many forms and schedules are not yet ready. When the IRS/state has finalized the forms you need then you will be able to file. Click Review to see what you have to wait for. The IRS is not accepting returns until January 27, so there is no hurry to file now. Filing now would not result in an early refund.
it could already be ready. it depends on what forms are needed for your return. if they.re ready, TT should let you e file, if not you should get a warning. By the way technically e-fileing doesn't open until 1/22 so a submitted return at this time will proabaly just sit. if you have earned income credits or child care credits, they won't be processed until around 2/22
