When’s the first day to apply for the Refund Advance Loan

Is it true that the Turbo Tax refund advance with Credit Karma will start January 2nd? Unfortunately I can’t find the page where I think I read it.

When’s the first day to apply for the Refund Advance Loan

Sorry…TurboTax does not have any refund advance loans at this time.  For the past several tax seasons, there have been refund advance loans during January and February.   The refund advance loans are not issued until the IRS accepts your e-file.  The IRS will not be accepting e-files until sometime late in January.

But, to double stress.....

Even if ....IF...TTX offers you a refund advance in early January, and you file your forms right away...

...you DO NOT get the refund advance until the IRS actually "Accepts" your e-filed tax return later in January.

....AND...after you e-file it, IF you discover you missed entering some income, or credits....you cannot get it back while it is sitting on the TTX servers...it is locked in place until the IRS computers do their stuff.

.....i.e. your file just sits on the TTX servers until the IRS computers pull it out, and their computers do a cursory computer check to either "Accept" or "Reject" it.

SO Do Not File until you are sure you have entered absolutely everything correctly.
