When filing married jointly, only one W2 was entered. The rest of the info was entered and it recorded as married filing jointly. Will this affect us in the future?

After submitting our first "filing married jointly" return, we noticed it did not have my spouse's W2 just mine. This was a year ago and I did not notice this until now.  It does have his personal information.  Don't want to make the same mistake this year, do both of our W2's need to be submitted?

Yes, you will have to enter both your W-2. Please make sure you report all taxable income from you and your spouse.

  1. Login to your TurboTax Account
  2. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “W-2”
  3. Click on “Jump to W-2” and enter the first W-2
  4. Click on "Add another W-2"

Yes.  All income must be reported.  Just add another W-2.  It asks which spouse the W-2 is for,.
