If this is an HSA issue, here's a great answer from another poster:

I had the same problem.  Turbo Tax should really add this clarification to the question page, as the answer is not clear.

This so-called answer is no help at all if one spouse was covered under a family plan, and the other spouse had their own individual coverage.  I cannot find any solution to that scenario.

If i have family and my spouse has individual does that mean, due to this error, I can't use turbo tax? I'm thinking I need to use a different tax product this year?

I have the same problem, however this solution does not work as both my husband and I were covered under individual plans for the entire year, we were never on a family plan.

I ended up using the other big brand software last year, never could get this issue resolved. Seems like it’s a problem again this year so I won’t waste my time.

I am having this issue.  Wife has a self HDHP with HSA at her company.  I have a family HDHP with no HSA for my son and myself.  WHAT DO I INPUT HERE?

It's a year later, and I'm having this same issue my first time using TT. In fact, the whole experience is scaring me off because I don't find any of TT user-friendly at all! I consider myself pretty intelligent, well-versed in family financials, and have an excellent command of English, but I'm pretty worried right now! I may just run to an accountant :(

Yea, this answer isn't helpful.  I just entered the correct info, my spouse had coverage and there was no lapse.
Also, @krisandtroy, I find the software pretty user friendly.  I've used it for about 8 years now and this is the first problem I've encountered.  I'd hose the option for expert review and pay less than going to an accountant.

3 years later in 2022 the site is still saying that exact same thing.  I think I will use a different tax site since Intuit doesn't seem to care unless you want to pay them more money for the "better" tax preparation choices they have.

If the spouse does not carry their own insurance but are covered by the spouses insurance. Go back to the previous question and change your answer to none. This doesn't mean they weren't insured, it means they weren't insured through their employer on their own plan.
