When can you sign and file

If you are e-filing your tax return there is nothing to sign.  When you enter your 2022 AGI that is your electronic signature.

You have to complete all 3 Steps in the File section of the program to either e-file or print your tax return for mailing.

TurboTax has already begun allowing taxpayers to file their tax returns for the 2023 tax year.  However, the IRS will not start accepting and processing tax returns until January 29th.  So if you file before then TurboTax holds your return until it can be submitted.
