It is a glitch.... switch to forms for all w2s and w2gs, then switch back to step-by-step.
Im done talking to TurboTax, at least for this year. Talking to support got me only the "it's your computer's fault" reply.
I even deleted my CD installation of TT and tried to download directly from TT online, but got the install message that my product keybwas "already used ".
You can get a refund for your TurboTax. I think you have 60 days if you bought it from Costco but TurboTax does guarantee satisfaction, which a lot of us clearly are not getting.
My suggestion is before you even delete TurboTax go by H&R Block premium, which is an equivalent to Turbo tax home and Business. Multiple W-2 entries seem to be the problem that is slowing down TurboTax.
H&R Block Premium cost about $47 plus tax on Amazon, and this program was able to download my personal info from last year's TurboTax return file, so I didn't have to start from zero. H&R Block feels a little less intuitive perhaps, but it was still perfectly usable and data entry went quickly.
One thing that H&R Block did not prompt me to do was file local taxes for a city I had worked in, and TurboTax usually handles that though it only gets to C minus grade anyway from me for that locality for missing certain specifics for that city.
I appreciate people are suggesting work-arounds and that is great. I think the issue is that we are paying for a fully-functional product. While I appreciate the work-arounds, since I had to get my taxes done, I should not have use work-arounds. The product should work as intended.
a "glitch" should have a patch. But thanks for the suggestion!

Forms lag between fields is awful. Get blue spinning wheel on cursor.
Occasionally cannot access next field until cursor (hand) or wheel disappear.
I do updates daily. Changed batteries in keyboard/mouse. Checked Samsung processing health.
Just putting in my 2 cents! Growing old out here trying to fill forms!!!
There is a glitch when entering W2s and W2Gs using Step-by-step. Many of us found that switching to Forms to enter W2s got rid of the lag. Then we switched back to Step-by-Step to finish up. Hope this helps. Wendy 🙂
My computer has highspeed processor and flies everywhere else but this program! What has happened to INTUIT?? This will take me three times longer to do my taxes!! Every field to be typed in it just spins spins until it lets you type in! Why did you change 2020 it was fine! I tried everything and its still the same is there a fix??
thanks I will try that
If you simply can't do your taxes in this way, which I couldn't, then I suggest downloading H&R Block premium, if you need multiple W-2 and 1099 income entries.
H&R Block can look at your saved return from last year's TurboTax program and fill in all of your personal information into the H&R return, which is a big time saver.
Well, for me, it turns out that it was running super slow in the W-2 section, and once I was out of that it was generally better.
Still, when I call customer support about a known issue and am told they know nothing about it and it must be my computer, I'm just lucky I didn't have an aneurism.
Intuit is focusing on being prosecuted for bait-and-switch advertising of free tax preparation services, so this issue is not going to be their priority.
It isn't you; there is a glitch in the program. Read the other comments.
Wendy 🙂
Trying to enter W-2G, at this rate I will be here till Christmas. HELP!
Switch to forms to enter W2s and W2Gs, then switch back to Step-by-step. There is a glitch in the system.
Wendy 🙂
