If all you have to report is a form 1095-A for the Premium Tax Credit, you can use 1040A. You can also use Form 1040, but your situation can be handled by the simpler 1040A.

I wonder if TurboTax filled out form 8962 by accident? I don't think I have had that form in my finished taxes anytime in the past, now the IRS has questions about it.
