You first have to clarify the nature of your relationship with the "employer." If they are not withholding any taxes, it might be because they consider you an independent contractor, not an employee.

Do they take out Social Security and Medicare taxes?

Do they take out state income tax? (What state do you work in?)

Did they have you fill out a Form W-4?
