When you look at the prices, note whether the preparation of a state tax return is included or optional. With the CD/download product, state tax preparation for one state is included in the price when you buy it from TurboTax but there is a additional fee to efile your state return.

I think that the fees to file state and federal taxes are vague. You are given the option to pay with a credit card or use your refund but it does not tell you how much you have to pay. It would be beneficial if I login to submit my federal and state refunds. Then, by the time my taxes are done, I know the fees turbo tax will charge to file the taxes rather than being directed to a link.

When you choose the option to pay your fees with your federal refund, it tells you on that screen what the cost is to do that.
