As you may know, the "quarters" on the 2210 are not actually three months each. The default method of handling the withholding is to take the total and divide by four.
But in fact, you withhold 3.5 months worth of tax in the first quarter, 2 months worth in the second quarter, 3 months worth in the third quarter, and 3.5 months worth in the fourth quarter.
Reporting your actual withholding by the calendar quarters may reduce your penalty. So line D is asking for the actual amounts withheld in those quarters, not your total withholding divided by 4.
If you want to start over, you might do this:
*** Desktop***
1. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and select the desired form. Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.
*** Online ***
1. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form
2. delete form(s) 2210 and any associated worksheets.
Then go back into the interview and see if the previously entered data is gone.
This is exactly what I did. I went back to review the tax payment calculations and put entries for 3 rows and put $0 for the fourth row. This worked !
I'm not able to enter the tax withholding for each quarter. I can enter only 1 set of numbers.
