Hello,

I'm having trouble understanding how to fill out my W4 form. I noticed federal withholdings are not coming out anymore. How do I get that to where taxes will be taken out? Also, how do I determine if I need to check the box for exempt or not?

Basically there isn't much to fill out on the W-4. You will choose your filing status at the top. That is actually all that must be filled out. However, if you have updated this already and then zero tax starting being withheld, you probably need to select an "additional amount" to be withheld from each paycheck. You can use the IRS Tax Withholding Estimator to determine the amount of withholding that you need for the year. Here's a link to the IRS Tax Withholding Estimator:
