My wife and I each hold a job. She makes significantly more money than I. I average under $1000 bi weekly and have not had any federal with held. We both changed jobs in 2021. I have filled out a new w4, but hers was auto filled for her. Box in question 2 is not checked on either w4. My wife also received a bonus that was taxed and I dont know how to calculate that into our yearly income to get a better idea of total tax for year end.

Hi,
You are astute to figure out something may be at issue. With both of you making different amounts, it's very important to fill out both W-4's correctly, including doing the work to answer the questions in step 2. If needed, you can submit a new one to your employer(s). You can review easily the W-4's you currently have by using this W-4 calculator. This Tax Caster may also be helpful.
As to bonuses, the standard federal withholding on supplemental payments (a bonus is a supplemental payment) is 22%. That may or may not be enough. To decide, assuming all other things are relatively the same as last year, check your tax bracket (or marginal tax rate). If it was higher than 22%, you may be under-withheld and can consider asking the payroll department to withhold more... You don't say what state you live in, but you can google the supplemental payment withholding rate is in your state and do the same analysis.
