So enter it manually.  Should just take a couple seconds.  It should be just as fast and easier.

to enter a W2 manually go to
Federal Taxes Tab
Wages & Income
Wages and Salaries- Click the Start or Update button

W-2 PDF Upload Fails

I could also not use turbotax, print the forms and file manually. The upload feature, which is prominently placed and intended for convenience, is not functioning correctly. Anyone with *useful* information regarding this issue need only reply please.

W-2 PDF Upload Fails

The "useful information" is do not waste your time trying to use a useless import function when simply typing in the W-2 information is actually easier and faster.   (Sometimes "helpful" features take more effort and time than simply not using them.)

I didn't say to FILE your tax return manually.  Just to manually enter the W2.  Or are you trying to prepare the W2s for your employees to efile to the IRS?    How are you trying to "upload the pdf"?  I don't think you can do that.  You either import the W2 directly from your employer or take a picture of it.  No pdf involved.
