W-2 Line 15

The company employer is in VA. However the employee lives/works in FL the whole year (remote). Does line 15 have to be VA or blank. (Since FL does not do state taxes). On line 17 it is blank showing 0 state tax withheld. The W-2 Form came out as Line 15 VA and Line 17 blank. Does a correction need to be done?

Are you issuing the W-2?

I would ASSUME the employee is working remotely in Florida and therefore line 15 would be blank, but we do not have enough information to give you an accurate, definitive answer. You would need to consult with the company's payroll department.

If you are entering in the information from a Form W-2 into TurboTax, enter it the way it was issued.
