I am a Minnesota resident. I interned for the federal government in Washington DC in 2021.  My W-2 for that work shows code "MNWH" for the state code in box 15.  What does this code mean and what state do I report this income for?

Your withholding was sent to Minnesota so you can file and/or pay your taxes in your resident state (Minnesota) only.  You do not have to file a DC nonresident return.

tbrands,

While you would have to call payroll to be certain, likely that it stands for Minnesota Withholding.  Was state tax withheld in box 17?  If so, then report it as Minnesota state income tax.
