I purchased Turbotax Advantage in December figuring that it would help to have the software as soon as it is ready to start working on my taxes. Then never received any word that that I could actually download the software until I went looking for it this week. Now I have downloaded the software, but it is asking me for the license code. I never received a license code after purchasing advantage. I tried going to the website for the TurboTax Advantage account page and the Downloads screen like some of the instructions say, but I do not see it in there. What did I pay for if not the ability to get the software and use it?

If you purchased the Advantage subscription in December 2024 then it would be for tax year 2025 to be released in November of 2025. You needed to purchase the Advantage subscription before early November 2025 to get the 2024 desktop edition.

I see this post is closed, but I wanted to offer a little advice in case it may still help the OP, or someone else who may stumble across this like I did when I was searching for answers about TurboTax Advantage.
I received an email from TurboTax in November 2024 offering the Advantage subscription. I went ahead and purchased it and haven’t given it a thought since then. When I logged in today to download the software to do my 2024 taxes, I saw the same thing about the expected release date for the download being in November 2025, so I was also confused about what I'd paid for when I purchased Advantage in late 2024 (see screenshot below). I searched for answers and came across this post. While I was reading the Accepted Answer, it dawned on me that I had seen a box that was actually titled “TurboTax Desktop 2024”, but had ignored it for some reason thinking it was last year’s software download (this box was just below the one with the “expected release” info). I have no idea why the first box distracted me so much that I forgot that *2024* was actually the year I was looking for! And this made me ponder if it led anyone else off track as well, so I thought I’d mention that you may be able to scroll down to get the link to download. Once I clicked the “Licenses and downloads” link, the resulting page had a license key and a download link for the 2024 software.
I think I should also note that I purchased the subscription in early November (11/8/24), so it is possible I only have the 2024 download because the subscription was purchased in early November [as suggested in the Accepted Answer]. However, I did see that first box that only shows an expected release date of November 2025 - and at least for me, that’s what really threw me off. I realize now that I only had to scroll down a little to find the download link I was looking for. Since the Accepted Answer suggests that you may not be able to access the 2024 software if you purchased later in 2024, you may not have the 2024 download link that I have. Although I can’t see why they’d sell a subscription in 2024 that you can’t use until early 2026 [when doing 2025 taxes].
Hopefully this helps someone, but YMMV.
