UPDATE ERROR WHEN FILING

I have bought the Deluxe Edition from Costco.  I use Windows 10 and I need to file Fed and AZ State, however, when I get to the end I get this error when I push the final button to file.....

"There is an update available for your version of TurboTax.  Before you can file electronically, you’ll need to get this update.  To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates.  If you’d like to e-file your state return using TurboTax, it will need to be filed along with your federal return.  You may also e-file your federal return now, then submit your state return later via TurboTax, by mail, or by visiting your state’s tax website for alternative e-filing options."

I have done those same instructions, rebooted my computer to be sure, opened the program again, hit send and still same error. I did this 3x and also checked for updates again within the program.  Same results.  What the!?!?!  If I have to file state manually by paper I want my money back.  Solutions please INTUIT!!!!!

UPDATE: After calling customer service 2x the only solution was to re-input all my tax info into the online version.  The lady on the phone was very professional throughout the experience though.  Thanks nicole!

There is a workaround for this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience this experience has caused and we are working diligently to help the returns get filed. In the above article, there is a link "here" that you can click on to receive an update once this has been corrected. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused."

    TurboTax,

How about a manual patch for Illinois like for MA and NY?  Cannot e-file my states taxes because of this endless update loop.   Please?   Or better yet, fix the program so this problem goes away for everyone!

Hi - I am having the same issue with the Mass state return.  Reinstalling the online version did NOT correct the issue.  Still can't file the state return.

If you have already filed your return and agreed to pay your taxes via a specific payment method, you must call the IRS to cancel that payment and set-up a new one directly with the IRS.

Call IRS e-file Payment Services 24/7 at 1-888-353-4537 to inquire about or cancel your payment, but please wait 7 to 10 days after your return was accepted before calling.

When will I get my stimulus check

If you have recently filed and indicated that you had not yet received one or either stimulus check, then the IRS will automatically add it as a credit to your refund (or decrease your amount due).  We do not process refunds or stimulus checks here at TurboTax.

Please note, if you actually did receive either one, but indicated that you had not, you can do one of two things:

         1.  File an amended return once you receive notice that your return was received, accepted, and PROCESSED

         2.  You can wait for the IRS to perform their reconciliation and then send you a letter letting you know the adjustment to your refund. IF you

had already received your refund, which you will most likely get that well before the IRS performs this audit of stimulus payments, the

will inform you that you owe that money back. Therefore, if you do receive it but had already gotten it, do not spend it as they will come

looking for it. Just wanted to let you know! 🙂
