Here is a blank 1040X Amended return to see column A
Never ever efile anything that you have not reviewed carefully first ... Save a PDF of the return ...
Look at the form 1040X …
Column A should have the figures from the original return, Column C the corrected figures and Column B the differences between the other 2 which needs an explanation on page 2 of the form 1040X.
If you completed it correctly you will see an entry on either line 16 OR 18:
On line 16 should be the amount you paid with your original return. If you paid nothing already then this line should be zero.
On line 18 should be the amount of your original refund you received. If you have not received your refund yet then you need to wait for it. If the refund changes from what you expected then this line must reflect that change.
Then you will see your extra refund on line 22 OR the new balance due you need to pay on line 20.
Thanks. So its talking about the original amount is column A? Sorry I'm so new to a amended return .
Ok I'm seeing what you are saying. So I'll definitely need to 1040x this. No efile my efile numbers are a little diffrent plus I got the reworked refund already coming so I'll need to include this. Turbotax does not include what you got already. Suck! Thank you for the much needed help. Looks like I'll have fun with some numbers
You may want to get in person assistance for this matter ... I already told you the program will/may need some overrides for this unusual situation which can only be done using the downloaded program or doing them manually. I know many professionals that would not be able to do this successfully.
