Paid for more than half of their living expenses and other support. Is that asking if the Dependent did? Or the taxpayer?

It is asking if the dependent paid more than half of his/her own support. (If they support themselves by more than 50%).

If you are claiming them and you support your dependent by more than 50%, the answer to that question will be NO.
